Join us at Historic London Town and Gardens for an enlightening afternoon lecture with Reverend Lawrence Walker as he shares the journey of his ancestors toward equality at James Madison's Montpelier. A descendant of Benjamin McDaniel, Reverend Walker has deep family roots in Orange County, Viriginia and has spent over 30 years as a family historian, researching at the Orange County Courthouse. 

In this talk, he will emphasize the importance of including descendant voices in the narrative of colonial and early American history. As a member of the Board of Directors at Montpelier and President of the Montpelier Descendants Committee, Reverend Walker brings a unique perspective to this vital conversation. Professionally, he was appointed Executive Director in the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives by Governor Wes Moore in April 2023.
